What Orbit does
Orbit blocks apps you choose, during time windows you choose, using Apple’s Screen Time system. It is not an ad product and it does not sell data.
What never leaves your phone
Your schedules and your app selections. Which apps you block, what you named a schedule, when it runs, and how long its hold is are stored only on your device. The one exception is the setup the first time you open Orbit: the window and hold you pick there are recorded as setup answers, described below.
This is not only a policy. Apple’s Screen Time framework hands apps an opaque token for a chosen app rather than its name or identifier, and those tokens are bound to the device that issued them, so they are meaningless anywhere else. Orbit has no server-side copy of a schedule and no endpoint that accepts one.
Your Screen Time usage. During setup Orbit can show how much time this phone spent in apps over the last week. Apple draws that report inside a sealed extension: Orbit’s own code never receives the numbers or the app names, and they never leave your phone.
What does leave your phone
Account, only if you create one. Orbit works fully without an account. If you sign in, we store an account identifier, and either the email address you gave us or the private identifier Apple provides through Sign in with Apple. An account exists to keep Pro across reinstalls and to send receipts.
Before you sign in, Orbit signs you in anonymously so a purchase has something to attach to. That anonymous record is not linked to you.
Purchases. When you start a free trial, buy, renew, cancel, or get a refund, the store notifies us so we can record whether you have Pro and until when. We receive which product it was, a transaction identifier, whether it is a trial, and an expiry date, or for a lifetime purchase the date it was made. We do not receive your payment details at any point; Apple processes the payment.
Your setup answers. The first time you open Orbit, a short setup asks a few questions and builds your first schedule from the answers. We record the answers you pick, such as which habit sounds like you, what you would do with the time, and what you have tried, the hold and the time window you choose, how many apps you pick, and how you answer the permission and offer screens. The offers at the end of the setup are filled in with the same answers, so the service that shows them receives them too. We never record which apps you pick or anything you type.
Usage analytics. Counts, durations and flags describing how the app is used: how many schedules exist, how long a hold lasted, whether a paywall was shown and what happened, and the setup answers above. No app names, no schedule names, no selections.
Crash and error reports. Diagnostic information when something fails, with quoted text stripped from messages and stack traces, because that is the shape an accidentally interpolated schedule name usually takes.
Install attribution. Whether the install came from an ad, using Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which reports in aggregate and never identifies a device. Orbit never asks for permission to track and does not read the advertising identifier. What the attribution service receives is the same as the usage analytics above, setup answers included. No app names, no schedule names, no selections.
Push notifications, if you allow them. A device token, so a notification can reach your device.
What we do not collect
- Your location.
- Your contacts, photos, messages, or files.
- Browsing history or the content of anything you do in other apps. Orbit can prevent an app from opening; it cannot see inside one.
- Payment card details.
Retention and deletion
Settings has an option that erases everything Orbit stores on your device, including schedules, settings, setup answers, and blocking state. One thing stays: while a free trial is running, Orbit keeps a note of it (the product and its dates) so it can still remind you before Apple charges you. The note clears when the trial converts or lapses, or when you buy lifetime.

Children
Orbit is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and change the date above.
