The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Resonance Studio, the maker of Orbit. They cover the Orbit app for iPhone and this website. By using Orbit you accept them; if you do not agree, please do not use the app. You must be at least 13 to use Orbit.
What Orbit is
Orbit blocks apps you choose, on days and hours you choose, using Apple’s Screen Time system. To open a blocked app while a window is active, you press and hold for the schedule’s hold duration, from 5 seconds up to 3 minutes. A finished hold earns a break of 3 to 15 minutes, then blocking resumes on its own.
Blocking needs the Screen Time permission. If you decline it, you can still plan schedules, but Orbit cannot block anything.
The commitment
Orbit is deliberately hard to talk out of a decision you already made. While a schedule’s window is running, that schedule cannot be edited, switched off, or deleted. You can change it after the window ends. A hold earns a break.
Orbit is a commitment aid, not a lock. Blocking depends on iOS and Screen Time, so revoking the permission or deleting the app ends it. We would rather you know that than find it out.
Free and Pro
Free includes up to two schedules and the 5 second and 30 second holds. Orbit Pro adds unlimited schedules and every hold duration. Pro comes as a subscription or, when the app offers it, as a one-time lifetime purchase. Breaks, templates, and reminders are included in Free and Pro alike.
A Pro subscription renews automatically through your App Store account until you cancel. To stop a renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The plans, their prices, and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy. A free trial becomes a paid subscription when it ends, and Apple charges you then unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Trials are for new subscribers, and Apple decides who is eligible. You can manage or cancel the subscription anytime in your App Store subscription settings.
A lifetime purchase is paid once and never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. It keeps Pro unlocked for as long as Orbit is available, and Restore purchases brings it back after a reinstall or on another device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Refunds for any purchase are handled by Apple, and a refund ends Pro as a lapse does. We do not receive your payment details at any point; Apple processes the payment.
If Pro lapses, your existing schedules keep working exactly as you set them up, including long holds. The free limits apply only to new actions, like creating a third schedule or choosing a longer hold.
Accounts
An account is optional. You never need one to use Orbit, buy Pro, or restore purchases. Before you sign in, Orbit signs you in anonymously so a purchase has something to attach to. An account exists to keep Pro across reinstalls and to send receipts; there are no passwords. To delete an account and the purchase record attached to it, write to the address below.
Your data
Your schedules and app selections stay on your phone, account or not. What Orbit stores, what leaves the phone, and what never does is described in the privacy policy.
Using Orbit
Orbit, its name, and its art belong to Resonance Studio. Orbit is licensed to you, not sold, for personal use on Apple devices you own or control. Please do not copy, sell, rent, or redistribute it, do not reverse engineer it except where the law says we cannot stop you, and do not use it to break the law.
About Apple
Orbit is distributed through Apple’s App Store, and a few things follow from that. This agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple has no obligation to maintain or support Orbit. If Orbit ever fails to conform to a warranty, Apple may refund you the price you paid; beyond that, Apple is not responsible for any claim about Orbit. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries. You also confirm that you are not in a country under a United States embargo and not on any United States list of prohibited or restricted parties.
What we promise, and what we cannot
We work to keep Orbit calm, honest, and reliable. Still, Orbit is provided as is, and we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. Blocking depends on iOS and on Apple’s Screen Time system, which we do not control, and an iOS update can change how they behave. Orbit helps you keep a decision you made. It is not a guarantee that your habits will change, and it is not medical or psychological advice.
If something goes wrong
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from Orbit or these terms is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer law gives you and does not let you give up.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. If the law where you live gives you protections that cannot be taken away, you keep them.
Ending
You can stop using Orbit at any time. Delete the app, and cancel any subscription in your App Store settings so it does not renew. We may end or suspend access for serious abuse of Orbit or of these terms.
Changes
If these terms change materially we will update this page and change the date above. Using Orbit after a change means the new terms apply.
